Bio

My name is Christopher Davenport, and I am a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State. I have spent much of my career working abroad, including time spent in Vietnam, Tajikistan, Guatemala, Georgia, Albania, Moldova, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. My first international experience was as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Papua New Guinea from 1994 to 1996. My time living in a village of subsistence farmers in the Papua New Guinean Highlands forms the basis of my memoir, The Tin Can Crucible. I now live outside of Washington, DC with my wife, our two daughters, and an assortment of pets we have collected from around the world.
